So, what are you all making for Christmas this year?

I'm a bit stuck for ideas; the non-Australian vegan communities are all going crazy with the wintery recipes and the non-vegan Australian ones are all going crazy for seafood!

My family traditionally has a pesto pasta salad with lots of summery vegetables and olives and mushrooms (I can post the recipe if anyone wants it), and a Christmas pudding (which I'm undecided about this year... on the one hand, Christmas wouldn't feel quite right without a Christmas pudding, but on the other hand, it seems a bit ridiculous to be eating Christmas pudding in the middle of summer), but apart from that... I've got nothing.

Thoughts?

Ooh, stuffed capsicums sound good... And yeah, I think you're right about the pudding, heh.

I'm not in charge of any of the cooking and my kitchen will be on the other side of the country to me at that time, so I'll be a bit limited when it comes to choices :(

Save the pudding for night time! It'll be cooler then. And have it with (soy) ice cream?

Mm, that's a good idea. And apparently it's going to be unseasonably cool on Christmas day anyway, so I'll definitely be having Christmas pudding. :)

I'm making Faux Turkey! I'm pretty excited, it arrived today (from the Cruelty Free Shop - so good!)
I was thinking of making a vegan Christmas Pudding cos I absolutely love it (I once finished off a 1kg pudding by myself over a week), but not sure if I will have the time. Otherwise, I might get a fruit cake at Iku, even though they are a bit expensive.
So, faux turkey, vegis, and pudding with soy cream....yum!
enjoy your chrissy!
